STEERING FAILURE 

A Steering Failure Alarm Panel is mounted in the forward pilothouse console. This panel provides the operator with an audible and illuminated alarm if a steering failure is detected by the steering failure detector monitoring the rudders while operating in FFU mode. On the panel are two audible indicators, two illuminated alarm lights, a test pushbutton, and an alarm acknowledge button.  Pressing the ACKNOWLEDGE button will silence the alarm and extinguish the alarm light.  The test button will sound the audible indicators and illuminate the alarm lights to ensure both are in working order.
