The pilothouse steering control panel is the main control center of the steering system. The control panel provides the operator with the ability to select which hydraulic pump system to operate and which steering mode to operate. Mode Selector - The mode selector switch allows the operator to select one of the modes of steering. An indicator is provided for each steering mode and is lighted when the associated steering mode is selected.

The steering pump selector switch allows the operator to select either the #1 steering system, the #2 steering system or neither (OFF position). Indicators are provided for each steering system and are lighted when the associated port and starboard steering system pumps are operating. A third position allows for the pumps to be controlled by the DP system. In this mode, all four pumps will activate giving th DP system full control and quicker responsiveness. A dimmer is provided to reduce the brightness of the lamps during operations. A lamp test allows the operator to check that the indicators will light and are functioning properly.
