The EMI Engine Order Telegraph System is a PLC based system that utilizes indicating push button control switches to provide a highly reliable, trouble-free design. Four engine commands are available in each direction, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full speed. Panels also include an indicating push button for lamp test and transferring control to bridge.
All push button switches are lighted (dimmable in pilothouse) to provide easy operation. A lamp test push-button provides an easy means to test all lamps in the circuit without changing any operational conditions.
Power requirements for the EOT are 24VDC furnished from the vessel supply or from a stand-alone 115VAC to 24VDC power supply and an emergency 24VDC in the pilothouse to meet the power failure requirements. Should there be a power failure in the system the power failure alarm push-button is illuminated and an audible sounds at the pilothouse station. The audible can be acknowledged by pressing the power failure push button which will then remain illuminated until the correct power is restored.
- Wrong direction indicators provide an audible alarm whenever an ordered direction is answered in the opposite direction.
- Data logging output signal from the EOT System to meet the log requirements required on some vessels.
